Hyaluronic Acid fillers
Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance produced by the body that is also used in anti-aging skin care products.
Hyaluronic acid (also called Hyaluronan) is a component of connective tissue whose function is to cushion and lubricate. For skin care, hyaluronic acid improves the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and deep creases when injected or applied topically to the face.
Depending on the extent of the area being treated, the treatment takes about 10-15 minutes and can, if wanted, be repeated. Hyaluronic acid is injected under the wrinkle using a very fine needle and fills it up adding volume and lending a "plumping" effect from the inside out. This function is what makes textural irregularities of the skin, such as wrinkles, seem to vanish.
Hyaluronic acid is used for:
- wrinkles around the eyes, lips, the forehead and base of nose
- cheekbones and cheeks
- lip filling
- nasolabial folds
